KMR FINE ARTS: 2011 Porfolio Review & Samples of Work
Contemporary Impressionist, Renaissance Man and evolving fine artist is widely collected, and has exhibited extensively in Virginia in group and solo shows. Since receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University in 1998, he has been working steadily toward his artistic vision of images on canvas, wood panel and paper.
The unique images are created from influences of environment, introspective thought and political perspective.
CITYSCAPES IN NOIR: By using shadow, light, and color, the artwork attempts to draw the viewer to envision themselves within the painting before them. Inspired by EDWARD HOPPER, MARTIN LEWIS & EDVARDMUNCH, among others, the paintings attempt to combine color and shadow to create perspectives reminiscent of 1930′s films in noir. The latest body of work consist of images produced by using Painting as well as organic and found objects. The use of stencils is inspired by the street art movement in Europe and the work of Banksy, Shepard Fairy/Obey & Mr. Brainwash. The influences of these artist takes the Ramsey back to his past that featured screen printing and graffiti when he was finding his way into the arts.
